Ready Rides Runs on Volunteers!

When you volunteer with Ready Rides, whether you have a specific amount of time or certain days in mind, or you want to start something new, we’ll be with you every step of the way, providing help and support.

We will do everything we can to help you get the most out of the experience. From giving you a full induction and training to just being there for a friendly chat, we’ll make sure you have everything you need.

Ready Rides works with volunteer drivers who bring riders to their medical appointments using their own vehicles.  Our drivers are vetted and trained to ensure the safety and comfort of our clients.  All records are kept up to date and kept in confidence by our coordinator.

Riders are picked up curbside at their homes and brought to their requested destination(s) and then returned home when they are done.  Ride requests are shared with the volunteer drivers and drivers choose the trips that fit their schedules and preferences.  You can drive once a week, once a month, or once in a blue moon!  Drivers are eligible for a $0.35/mile reimbursement to cover the cost of gas.

Who can volunteer?

Anyone over 21 with their own insured vehicle can volunteer their time to drive. There isn’t a typical volunteer, people of every age, gender, race and cultural background do it every single day in a number of towns.

While many people choose to volunteer after they have retired, it’s also a great way for College students (21+) to gain experience and take a break from their studies. Our short-term voluntary opportunities also mean that you can give as much or as little time as you want.

Throughout your volunteering journey, the team at Ready Rides will be here to provide support whenever and wherever you need it.

To learn more about becoming a volunteer, please email us at “info@readyrides.org” or call (603) 244-8719.

This is the list of documents needed from new volunteers. You can download and prepare these before our first meeting, or we will have them there and ready to be filled out at orientation.
